Founded in 1902, Hawthorn are the youngest of the Victorian-based teams in the AFL and has won thirteen VFL/AFL premierships. It is the only club to have won premierships in each decade of the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s and 2010s.
Hawthorn joined the VFL/AFL in 1925. Originally known as the Mayblooms, they struggled until 1957 when they made their first finals. They won there first grand final in 1961.
