Official Competition Discussion - Sevilla F.C. 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 5
Sevilla FĂștbol Club

Greetings people,

This is the place where you can officially discuss the competition and maybe share ideas or whatever you like!

Of course the team in question this time around is Sevilla FC, a Spanish football club from the Andalusian region. They are in more recent times one of the more successful clubs in Spain, claiming a Copa del Rey in 2007, winning back to back UEFA cup titles in 2006 and 2007 and topping this off with good league finishes and champions league football.

Sevilla usually play in white shirts, white shorts and black socks for their home games and this is what I pretty much expect for the competition although designers have free reign over what they publish as entries.

Below are the most recently released Sevilla uniforms, and have come under some criticism from users of many football shirt websites as being "cheap" looking and "tacky" just to pick out a few words used in describing them.

Over at Colours of Football (HERE) you can find a more recent history of Sevilla's kits, my personal favourite being the 2006-07 range. As you can see they have worn white socks in the past so this is the where you artistic license can come in to add your own perspective to what is required and if you think adding stripes/quaters/polka dots would be good then be my guest.

The following is what I will be looking for from the winner:
  • Identity - it is no good creating a green and pink shirt for the competition if it doesn't recognize itself towards Sevilla as a club

  • Explanation - optional, but it will help me to understand why you have made certain part of your design the way you have, or used specific colours.

  • Uniqueness - You need something to stand out from the crowd and wow me. Something that may make my brain explode from having not thought about the idea previously, ok slight exaggeration but try and create something unique.

  • Presentation - This is quite important for me, if you present your work with a FM template you have less chance of winning than someone who has took their own to time create something unique with a template of their own. I just see this as caring a bit more about your work. Hand drawn kits are very much welcomed for these reasons.

The following are the rules of the competition:

  • I will be judging the first competition and then the winner will judge the next etc.

  • The judge isn't able to compete in the competition since they are judging.

  • The winner of this competition will be able to decide the next team to be designed, or they can put it to a vote like I am doing.

  • Time scale is up to the judge but I guess a few of weeks is good.

  • People who plagiarise others work will be disqualified and fired from a trebuchet.

  • Home kits only will be judged, but feel free to make an away kit if you feel like it.

  • Kits can be designed on computer or by hand whatever the designer prefers.

  • Any kit manufacturer or sponsor logos may be used.

I wish you all the very best, more details will be provided on the official launch!

I will have to get back to you on this matter, sorry.

You can enter many different ways, but you have to create a Sevilla home kit. This can be hand drawing, scanning and uploading to the gallery, or you can create something digitally and upload. If you're really clever you can create something a third way which even I can't think of.

If I win the contest and choose a 50 GBP shirt, I will have to pay for the shipping (putting the shirt in the mail) to Brazil (that's where I live)?

Or, if the shipping costs 15 bucks, for example, I could take a 35 GBP shirt and pay nothing?

Sorry it has taken a bit of time to get back to you Geraldix.

Yes that would be the case, ÂŁ50 is all we can afford, so you would have to judge the P&P to Brazil as part of ÂŁ50. We have to draw a line somewhere.

I know this makes it less attractive to South American designers but still I think it is a good prize!

Of course it is OK to suggest, but at the end it is up to the person who wins the competition to decide the next team.

I hope you'll be competing yourself in the competition.

Not sure if Benfica would be as good as sevilla, as o Glorioso shirts you dont have as much scope, and theyve played in red shirts with white trim forever (as it should be) With Sevilla, there is a lot more to do with the team.

Been some stunning shirts in the competition, and by nest week, there will be one more:lol:

yeah you are right with the home shirt but our new away shirt is so ugly...it has 4 different colours and the publicity is a green smiling frog...

Two things

1 - I have my first handrawn design, but I dont know if it would be acceptable. Its a button up shirt like the ones worn in South America, like the shirt below. I have started on other designs with a similar style.

Would this be okay?

2 - tugafabio, In my gallery, there are a couple of Benfica shirt. one is a design for 2009-10 home with the same template as the new Liverpool away, and the other is a 2010-12 home done on paint shop pro and based on the 60s shirt with modern touches. Im thinking of redoing it, either drawning it up or making a new version soon as I get a copy of PS. your comments would be cool

Personally, I was pleased with my entry, but I wished I could have done it on Photoshop as well. There were some awesome entries though, both home and away

Yeah, its been a while. Personally, I think it should be UNAM Pumas, just seen the new kit and its a boring Puma Template, after years of great lotto designs.

Well it isn't very hard to organize one, but prizes are a different matter. I will message Matupeco as he has the deciding vote on which team should be chosen this time around.

Hey guys,

There is a new competition coming soon I'm just finalising the details with the mods of the website (and FSC). It's for Middlesbrough Futsal Club (www.BoroFutsal.com).

The prize will be a full kit for your team, school, club, college, uni whatever supplied by Errea and the winning design will be worn by MIddlesbrough Futsal Club in 2010 and 2011 seasons.

I saw some great designs for the others, so hoping to get the best strip for a futsal team in the world We're currently top of the National League North and off to the playoffs soon!

Any questions just ask - details and special gallery should be up by Monday at the latest!

We play in Navy/Red by the way
