Cameroon Puma Home Kit 2010/2012
info
Puma's newest creation for the Cameroon national football team. Cameroon being one of Puma's flagship teams and one of the biggest sellers is always a shirt to watch out for. Whether it be for causing controversy or just as a new design innovation Cameroon is usually at the centre of it where Puma is concerned. This time around it is a little different, opting for a little more of a reserved design compared to the infamous sleeveless design or the one piece kit which almost cost Cameroon it's place in both the Africa Cup of Nations and the World Cup. The newest shirt is most comparable to that of 2006-2008 than any other, with the lion watermark getting another airing, this time featuring on the right shoulder. The shade of green used is the same as Puma has used on all their previous home kits, a colour which is quickly becoming associated with the west African nation and to see any other green now would be to disregard the tradition which the previous generation of Cameroonian have bestowed on it with their fine form being twice African champions with it an all. Both the logos regularly featured on Cameroon's shirts have been made over with a new, more modern, sleek design. The 'Lions Indomptables' logo most noticeably has been changed, to front on view rather than a side view which its predecessor featured. The lion also has had a more fierce snarl bestowed upon it, the fierce look is obviously designed to intimidate. On the other side of the shirt the nation FA logo has also had a face lift. The logo now features a more European look with the tricolor of Cameroon's pan-African colours placed inside a more rounded, scudetto like shield. The old 'Fédération Camerounaise de Football' is now gone and replaced with the abbreviated version, 'FECA FOOT' allowing for greater overall aesthetics. The shirt is accompanied by the classic red shorts and yellow socks. The shorts feature a green trim on the sides and also a rounded cut, whilst the socks contain a red trim and green Puma logos. Overall a very nice look for Cameroon, I much prefer the material used here than the previous shirt which was a bit scratchy and needed to be worn with an under-shirt garment. The colours are everything you expect from a Cameroon kit, vivid and clear, not overly polluted with big blocks of other colours. The tight fit for me isn't a good thing, I don't like the feel of any clothes tight to my skin but for the players kit I think it is preferable to minimize on shirt pulling and as minimal as it is, to reduce drag too. The updated logos have been redone in a fantastic way and the asymmetrical design which isn't too noticeable looks really cool too in this style.
