Kit Design Competition #2 - Stafford Rangers

E-mail

stafford-rangers-kit-design-contest-2.jpg

So, long overdue, DesignFootball.com has its second kit design competition.  This time with a twist.  The English football team Stafford Rangers have asked us to submit designs for consideration for their 2009/10 home and away kits.

The club are already viewing designs from manufacturers but are keen to see what DesignFootball.com members can come up with.  If both Stafford Rangers and their chosen manufacturer decide that a design from DF is the most suitable then it will be produced for the playing squad and fans.  Should this be the case then the successful designer(s) will receive an example of their shirt as a prize.

We would advise that those looking to enter who are less aware of the club's history should visit the official website to familiarise themselves and gain the best possible chance of tuning into the requirements.  The club is seeking professional and contemporary outfits in keeping with their ambitions of once again reaching the heights of their past FA Trophy and FA Cup successes.  Maybe the next Stan Collymore could even wear a strip created by a DF designer.

If you wish to enter this competition please read and follow the specifications outlined below.  Stafford Rangers Football Club require:

Football Manager Live - Kit Design

football-manager-live.jpg

Football Manager Live’s uniqueness is borne out of the fact that it confers the user with the ability to create their own team. The game contains teams created from scratch by the managers. So instead of people managing real life teams like Liverpool and Manchester United, teams are totally distinctive.

This gives the game a sense of individuality as the team you create will be the only one bearing that name. It creates an attachment that is palpable as the team is essentially your baby. Once created it is up to you to bring that team success. You can customise your club in a number of ways, and some are described in more detail below.

BADGE

There is a space on your team profile page for you to upload a customised team badge. These can be a jpeg or png file. This is one of the areas where the distinctiveness of the games excels. People have embraced this concept immensely and there are a number of expert graphics experts who can create your teams badge to the exact definition you require. Some of the badges created would put professional designers to shame and a number surpass the design and personality of many real life team badges.

If you are
adept at Photoshop ( download here Adobe Trial Link )you can make one yourself, but there is an excellent badge designed accessible via your account of the FMLive website. To those that have created their own it is a real labour of love. The game will automatically resize the badge created and show it alongside your team name when playing a match. 'Club' -> 'Profile' -> 'Change Badge' will allow you to upload badges from wherever they are stored.

Konami offer the possibility to download the new England kit for Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 on the day of the England kit launch on 28 March.

At the same time as England’s eleven step out to take on Slovakia at wembley, you'll be able to kit out your virtual England team in Umbro's new threads on PS3, Xbox 360 or PC via an official download.

“Konami is extremely proud of its status as the official video game of the England team, and this download showcases the strength of our relationship with The FA and Umbro,” commented Jon Murphy, PES Team Leader for Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH.“Our Japanese team has been working closely with both parties to ensure the innovative new kit is faithfully recreated in the game, and we are delighted to be able to offer it as a free download to our millions of fans on the day it is revealed for the first time.”

“The FA is delighted to be working with Konami and Umbro to deliver fans of the England team the new strip in an inventive manner,” said Sean McAuliffe, Head of Business Development at The FA.“This further demonstrates our ability to leverage our commercial relationships in creative and engaging ways.”

“We are extremely excited to be working with Konami on this project and being the first to launch a new kit download during the season in PES 2009,” added Tim Parkinson, Umbro Chief Marketing Officer.“Umbro has a rich heritage in football and innovation has always been at the heart of the brand. The exclusive download with Konami is just another innovative step for Umbro. This and the ongoing relationship with Konami presented an opportunity to do something radically different around the launch of the kit.”

Fans of the series often make "option files" which modify all player names into those of their real life counterparts, as well as including transfers from the latest transfer window and, occasionally, altered stats of more obscure players whose in-game attributes do not precisely replicate their real life skills.
