As you may have heard, DF member matupeco (Matías Pecorari) is to have his fantasy Club Atlético Tigre shirt produced for the team to wear in their 2013 Copa Libertadores campaign.
Four fan designs were chosen by the Argentinian club and then, with the simple question "Which shirt would you like for the 2013 Libertadores?", votes were taken on the Kappa Argentina facebook page to see which special shirt should be put into production. matupeco won the vote and his shirt will be made up to be worn by the squad.
The modern take on the cult classic "T"-style shirt is bound to be popular with supporters and delivers well-earned recognition for one of the world's most talented kit designers.
matupeco's work will be well known to most regular visitors to DF, and he has quite a habit of winning competitions, albeit mostly of the just-for-fun variety on this site. Teams as diverse as Millwall of England, Juventus of Italy and Sanfrecce Hiroshima of Japan have all had the matupeco treatment.
So very well done to matupeco, we look forward to seeing his creation on the pitch, and the Tigre kit is very unlikely to be the last of his designs seen in professional football around the world. If Nike need a hand with the England kits they know where to come...
