UEFA has unveiled the visual identity created for the 2010 UEFA Europa League final at a ceremony in the host city of Hamburg. The visual identity created for each UEFA club final is intended to communicate the distinctive flavour of the host city.
The ceremony took place in the EAST Hotel Cinema in the northern German city, with the design launch being attended by the German sports minister Prof Dr Karin von Welck, German Football Association (DFB) general secretary Wolfgang Niersbach, Hamburger SV chairman Bernd Hoffmann and Germany Under-20 coach Horst Hrubesch. The event also heralded the opening of general public ticket sales within Germany for the UEFA Europa League final, to be played on 12 May at the Hamburg Arena (20.45 kick-off).
The showpiece match has been given a personality of its own with a complete design concept developed for the occasion. The design and logo which convey this unique identity will be used across a variety of promotional items, from tickets to web banners. The objective is to advertise the final and enhance the prestige of one of the world game's biggest events.
