There are at least two fantastic competitions already open - including the Hated/rival team kit design competition and the Atlético Nacional (COL) kit competition - but here's another relatively simple and quick "just for fun"-er.
With the recent releases of the Portugal and Netherlands/Holland Away kits, Nike have shown what can be done when an existing template is recycled in new colours. They've taken some flak over the decision but I personally think it's a great way of fully utilising a great design.
So I'd like to see a similar approach taken with any club or international kit of the last 25 years. Pick a design you like and play with the colours to give the chosen team a new mid-season Third (or Fourth, or Fifth...) kit in the same style as one of their existing strips.
The manufacturer will need to be stuck to, and probably the sponsor too, though for designs based on two season kits there may be a couple of options. Please include the season in the title and a graphical representation of the inspirational kit in the corner of the upload or at least a (short) url pointing us to the original in the description.
As is standard with DF competitions, selected entries will be featured on the DF facebook page and tweeted. Any designs already uploaded to Football Shirt Culture's Fantasy Kit Designs or the DF galleries are both eligible and welcome so please don't hesitate to include them.
The competition will close at 23:59 on Saturday 16th February 2013 and the winner(s) - chosen by me - will be announced shortly afterwards.

Update - 17/2/13:
The competition is now closed but please, please continue to upload these types of designs to the main gallery.
These competitions are always hard to judge and this one is no exception. Firstly, plenty of honourable mentions...
To denishurley for combining two of Arsenal's ugliest kits, predating the actual return of white away shirts to the Gunners by seven years and, naturally, giving the North London club another green and navy Away, as well as Liverpool a Romania-like Third which surely would have been far more popular than their real change kits at that time.
To Silky Smooth for giving us a Napoli shirt that we felt we'd already seen in existence - we hadn't - and a Croatia entry that made us think we were checking FSC, not DF.
And to ehrenfest, who uploaded several designs, the best of which was a black version of the Manchester United Away which drifted slightly into referee kit territory. One for Howard Webb then.
But the winner is Corinth, who came up with a fabulous design only to find adidas and Germany had got there first, and then, undeterred, gave us a bolt from the blue with a white and red version of the Corinthians "St George Cross" Centenary Third shirt. Had it been produced, and worn in a commemorative game, it could have become one of the most sought after shirts of all time, like the similar Internazionale Centenary Away. A great shout and a very worthy winner.
Well done to everyone who "got" this competition and contributed. The gallery will remain an enjoyable place to visit for some time to come.
