Generic Description:
This crest takes elements from past ASSE crests to form a new one that moves the club forward while celebrating the past.The Shield - has been used in ASSE crests on numerous occasions and in various forms, including their first crest from 1933.
ASSE - the ASSE abbreviation has been used on every crest, except in the 1980s. This diagonal version is inspired by the crest from 1940-60 - the longest lasting ASSE crest until the most recent one.
Circle/Stripes/Star - circles have been used in ASSE crests on a few occasions, most notably on their 2 longest lasting ones - 1940-60 and 1993-2022. Stripes have also been a common theme, featuring on every crest since 1978, except from 1988-93. (I've hinted at stripes in the shield) The tricolour star has featured since 1993 and represents the 10 Ligue 1 titles the club has won.
