Brisbane had it's own star studded competition with teams like Brothers, Valleys, Norths, Souths, Wests, Easts, Redcliffe and Wynnum Manly. Eventually in 1987 the Brisbane Broncos were formed and joined the national competition the following year. They have the largest fan base in Australian rugby league, attracting an average high of 41,014 in 2015 . They have won six premierships, the last being in 2006.
