They’ve been through some hard times recently but England’s Bolton Wanderers were an excellent choice for the 258th stage of the Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge.
And the members certainly embraced the opportunity. A mix of entirely modern designs and throwback creations ensued, with the quality spectacular.
As a certainly non-exhaustive list, vdgraph and SOXXER_ID both referenced the Reebok Home shirt worn between 2005 and 2007 - despite the the latter flipping the asymmetry, both gave us big Jay-Jay Okocha vibes - a rare flying-saucer-less alfredhiphop design did something new with an England ’82 look (and kept things real with the sponsor palette, despite the risk of ruin) and ONI went heavy with the debossing.
The winner, however, went for a change shirt, and the 1997-98-Third-referencing offering, carrying the "Hero" logos of Macron, was decorated with a pattern nodding to the Tudor façade of the historic Hall i' th' Wood (Hall in the Wood) manor house. The result was impressive and bagged Sithuralom the victory via the voting.
