Sometimes, a stage comes along in our Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge that could only ever provide one winner.
That was the case with the 259th stage, the stage dedicated to Hungary’s Újpest FC.
No need for a spoiler alert - it says it at the top after all - Hungarian-based Sithuralom absolutely smashed this contest. That’s not to say there weren’t any other brilliant designs - there certainly were - but Sithuralom fully deserved the win thanks to the stories that went into the winning design.
To shine a light on some other contenders, alfredhiphop gave us a smörgåsbord of geometry that combined for a pleasing result, Vandal mixed the structural with the botanical on an adidas shirt with great impact, and ArmorKuma kept things with Puma but added a stylish twist to the vertical stripes.
But Sithuralom. Sithuralom channelled childhood memories of patterned railway station artwork and engineered a Kit of the Week voting victory - their second successive victory - by honouring the sadly passed Hungarian football hero, András Törőcsik (Sithuralom’s father’s favourite player).
Read all about it and enjoy a Puma-branded creation that is not wholly dissimilar to a change kit Újpest have at their disposal in 2022-23.
