The J-League’s Yokohama F. Marinos are known for their “Tricolor” look of blue, white and red, making their usually adidas kits, with plenty in common with France and, fittingly, Japan, popular.
Popular enough, certainly, for the club to feature in our Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge.
The stylings used, in the main, were inspired by Marinos’ signature look, with, for example, Dan808’s signature glow effect also incorporated, and santiagoalies providing a shirt unmistakably Marinos despite it being, officially, a black Third shirt.
NSGraphics actually went for a Puma-branded number that represented the look of Tokyo’s neighbour at nighttime, subversively, but Corinth’s thoughtful entry couldn’t have looked more like a Yokohama F. Marinos shirt and duly won out in the voting. Congratulations to Corinth.
