All the Kit of the Week challenge stages are fun, some are more impressive than others, and some - like the Palmeiras stage - are so undeniably spectacular that we could talk about them for months after they’ve closed.
And here we are. We shouldn’t be surprised that the Brazilian side with the Italian origins got DF members excited, as big a club as they are, but we couldn’t have predicted the brilliance that was to ensue once they were announced as the fantasy client.
Where to start? Well, cukun’s creation would be a worthy winner of many a stage and barely figured in the voting, Corinth’s entry is wonderfully classy and sees a perfectly measured pattern incorporated expertly, and Kevski rotated the main-sponsor wordmark 90 degrees on another timeless offering, which has no business working but somehow did.
If that wasn’t enough, Sithuralom submitted a Puma-branded white throwback design just days before Palmeiras released an eerily similar Puma-branded white throwback design, with the former - yeah, we’re saying it - the better of the two.
And then fayed. And then fayed, in a Kit of the Week challenge stage where the standard was so high, entered a design that most concluded would win from the moment they - we - set eyes on it.
And, come the voting, win it did. Superb.
