The 332nd stage of the Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge was centred on Algerian - or “Kabyle” - side Jeunesse Sportive de (JS) Kabylie.
“La JSK” are Algeria’s top club side, historically, and their inclusion in our most high-profile shirt-design competition was both warranted and, consequently, embraced.
The approach differed between the entries, with giannakakis, for example, going very classic with the stripes (and very late 20th century with the shoulder-and-sleeve branding), FMKGaz mixing things up in that regard, derkamartz dispensing with stripes altogether, in favour of a sublimated tonal graphic, and Corinth rotating the stripes 90 degrees and stylising them with Kabyle script.
In the end, once all the votes were counted, Corinth’s approach was the most popular, perhaps aided by (current JSK supplier) Kappa’s “Omini” logos neatly alternating between green on yellow on the chest and yellow on green on the shoulders and sleeves.
Beautiful, and deserving of the victory. Our challenge stages don’t let up in quality!
