Kit Design Tutorial for BeginnersHere

The Kit of the Week (KOTW) challenge is continuously on a world tour and the 338th stage was dedicated to Ecuadorian Serie A side (Club de Alto Rendimiento Especializado) Independiente del Valle.

It was superb, with twelve entries eventually making the voting page, and the podium ended up with three people jostling for stable footing in the gold-medal position.

But that wasn’t the whole story. As well as the winners, there were plenty of other excellent designs entered, with CyKitDesigns and SSmithDesigns both doing stylised stripes that double up as a chequerboard print, and Oakleighman doing stripes-cum-quarters in a light-contrast way.

There are, of course, lots more designs we could list the virtues of, but to focus on the way it went in the end - or didn’t, if a three-way tie is unsatisfying - giannakakis, with the branding coming good, combined a stylistically paint-daubed trunk with navy sleeves, duksofc overlaid a great pattern with the Umbro logo styled we should be seeing as the British brand celebrate their 100th birthday (time will tell), and Dawij’s Macron-branded affair has black and blue stripes speckled with admirable restraint.

So a trio of winners. The submissions were so good that we can understand why there was so much difficulty separating them.

@TombotThe Crystal Palace one is obvious considering their Chairman interacted with the post back in 2024, the Emmen anniversary logo is also obvious since they used the exact same laurel ...

Are you claiming three separate manufacturers all stole your ideas?
