I loved the "aggressive style" of Moom's kit. The stripes work very well on this kit.
Rabbi's kit also looks great. The pattern of animals and plants makes an unique representation of Costa Rica's high biodiversity.
One of the toughest decision so far in this comp, but I think Rabbi deserves my vote for the awesome 'Flora and Fauna' pattern of the kit, which looks brilliant and probably involved some research.
Although these kits seem to be very well thought of at first glance, there are huge misses on both.
Rabbi's Costa Rice looks nice at first. From what I have read, some research seems to have been worked into the design which to me is a great. First, I cannot get over the continuous use of the same polo collar for all of the kits, Rabbi. I understand that there are templates that are used, but everyone else has changed it up. That is a big miss in this round. The vertical light blue pin stripes on the collar, cuff and piping does not mesh well with the usual Costa Rica kit that already has three different colors. The accent is out of place. The accent on the shorts look great but they look like they belong to a different team entirely. The kit would be cleaner without them. The watermarks look out of place and tacky. It is very smart idea but the execution is poor to say the least. The mistakes make this kit fall very short to the round. 6/10. Congrats on the effort and on getting this far, Rabbi.
Moom's Colombia kit looks very risky and spectacular at first but then you see the blood! Man o man, it seems like a great detail at first but then it just looks like blood on the arms, blood on the shorts and blood on the socks. Maybe it was the color or red or just the pattern in of itself, It is a huge miss to me. Another miss is the dark blue that pipes down from the shoulders to the arms. It is basically the same thing as their previous kit. Just add the blood. Again, the execution is phenomenal, the ideas are there, the presentation is great but it falls short to what I have seen Moom do before and the many many ways a Colombia kit could have been designs. The only cool part of the kit are the numbers. 7.5/10. Very well done.
My vote: Moom. You tired something different and executed better. Congrats to both. Well done.
Have to agree with Irving on the Costa Rica collar and watermark. With a plain blue collar and no watermark this would be a nicer kit but then fairly plain and unlikely to win any favours in a competition of this sort. Great idea and research has gone into this but for me it doesn't quite work. If the Colombia kit was in their traditional colours with this design it would be the best kit in the whole competition. As it is, still a superb kit with brilliant presentation. My vote goes to Moom, who I would've voted for in the last round too if he weren't pitched against me!
Not that it maters to me at all but I would like to point out to Buttplug, Irving and others that the collar is not the same on these tow kit I have presented here in this competition do enlarge the designs and take a closer look, it is similar but not the same. Just wanted to point that out to you guys, but to be honest and emphasis that I do not care much how this goes, I can be perfectly happy to lose to Moom it does not mater to me at all.
@Rabbi Be a good sport my friend! These opinions are well intended and do not mean to hurt or demoralize anyone. It is all constructive criticism. You have made it this far for a reason. Take the best out of all of this. Congrats, again.
To be honest Irvin I do not care much for the critic here on DFand I was not and I am not hurt by it at all, I was just pointing out the fact that the collars are not the same as that seamed to be the focus point of some of the critic here to my kit, that was all. That I do not care much for this kind of competition is a mater of fact and it has nothing to do with this competition in particular, I like had like so many other designers that where frequent here on DF stooped participating in competition here on DF, it was just for the fact that Fenton asked me to join this competition that I did, I have loot of other things to do and I have not put in much of a hart in to this competition and I think Fenton can confirm that, and to put things strait I have absolutely nothing agents Moom, not at all and are perfectly happy to loos to him as I would have been loosing to Matupecko he is a good friend of mine and I admire his work, they are both a good designers and worthy opponents. so do not take me wrong in this comment of mine. :-)
