Could be better the red rose has to go really as Manchester is no longer part of Lancashire, I think maybe replacing it with either the three stripes representing the canals in blue like their current logo or the bees from the top of the city crest which Umbro have used as a bit of a basis for there black away kit.

The three stripes represent the rivers (Irwell, Irk and Medlock), not the canals.
