- Description
- There's been a lot of debate over recent years as to whether Manchester City and United should remove the ships from their crests. Some say the ship is a link to the shipment of slaves to the UK and America, and the shipment of cotton from America to be worked in Manchester's factories, while some people argue it is just representative of the Manchester ship canal and that the ships are just representing Manchester's industrial past. I can see both sides of the argument, but I wanted to try making both crests with no ships present, to see if the ships could be removed while still keeping the spirit of the clubs. In this badge the symbol of the ship has been replaced three lines, representing the three rivers from the city's crest that run through Manchester.
