Kit Design Tutorial for BeginnersHere

All the Kit of the Week challenge stages are fun, some are more impressive than others, and some - like the Palmeiras stage - are so undeniably spectacular that we could talk about them for months after they’ve closed.

And here we are. We shouldn’t be surprised that the Brazilian side with the Italian origins got DF members excited, as big a club as they are, but we couldn’t have predicted the brilliance that was to ensue once they were announced as the fantasy client.

Some teams are chosen for the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW) because of their standing in world football, some because, frankly, their club badge is abysmal, and then some are chosen - one is chosen - because they’re named after Thor and their identity has Thor’s hammer front and centre.

Iceland’s Íþróttafélagið Þór, or Thór Akureyri, aren’t known for their on-pitch exploits. As we say, Thor’s hammer, innit. And the members that got involved certainly enjoyed themselves.

Super League Greece side Aris Thessaloniki FC (or Aris FC, or AFC, or Aris, or ΠΑΕ Άρης), from Thessaloniki (or Thessalonica, or Saloniki, or Salonika, or Salonica, or Θεσσαλονίκη) in Macedonia, have a striking identity that makes them ideal for the Crest Redesign Competition Weekly (CRCW).

As it was, there were certainly some themes that repeated in Aris’s stage, with the club of course named after Greek god of war and courage Ares, and he featured in some form on all but one of the entries.
